DUSK
A time we pass through
Once a day
Brief in our time
Long if we notice
Watch and feel
Peer into the depths
There are Subtle shapes
Moving about never
Taking form not defined
Cavorting gracefully in
The wide dusk
Two dimensional
World where depth
Replaced by time
Moves along lines
We can’t see
Day settles and slows
Dust falls for the last time
Leaves come to rest
Sun’s rays flare through
Clouds moving slow now
Moving off to the edge
Of the world
Few of us take note
Even then of
The magic unfolding
Watch sometime
Look for sprights
And kindreds dancing
In and out of our
Fables stories of old
Traditions tales
Spurring imagination
Wispy shapes
Make clever passes
Through our fixed
World of thoughts
Realities structure
Teasing our senses
In fading light
They’ll flit and hide
Behind the tree
Above the bush
Vanish then appear
Somewhere else
I look for them every day
They know me well
Kind and gentle
Mischievous
