POLO
It had always just
Been a field
There are lots of them
In the area
They all get mowed
At least once a year
Some for hay and some
Just to keep the trees
And bushes from growing
This one was more like
A lawn with no house
I guess if you’re lucky enough
To be able to own a field
You can do whatever you
Want with it or not
I take that road often
Its a slow road
You can drive slowly even
If you’re in a hurry
To get somewhere
Yesterday there was a
Polo match going on
It made me think of summers
When the carnival would
Come to town
Carnivals are the only things
That do that
Come to town
The players brought everything
They needed on trailers
They even had a trailer with
A scoreboard on it
This was a serious group
Well sort of no uniforms
I drove by this morning
The Polo field was empty
Funny how things can
Change like that
