Yellow streak

Across the blue sky

Afterglow traces

I see everywhere

I look

Fading slowly

With each blink

Fear sets in

I envision

For a moment

Bigger things

Imponderables roll

Around in my mind

Flashing their yellow streaks

In my imagination

We are all silent

For a moment

Scratching around for

Some sort of understanding

More an echo of thoughts

From before us

We’ve built fragile shelter

To protect us

From these thoughts

Not the elements

We lived for millennia

In those unscathed

Our roofs and doors

For the thoughts

Of the unknown

The vast the astonishing

We see but can’t touch

We invent beings to

Explain it all

Gods seers oracles

All for the thoughts

Passing by

Yellow streaks

Across blue skies
